BHT Wins 2011 Electronic Lifestyles Award

SANTA MONICA, CA—Beyond Home Theater, a leader in luxury home theater and home automation system installation, won the 2011 Silver Technical Award for Best Integrated Home Level 2, presented by CEDIA’s Electronic Lifestyles®. The award is considered one of the most prestigious recognitions in the $8 billion residential electronics system industry. The award was presented at a reception on the evening of September 10, 2011 at the CEDIA Expo 2011.

“This is a great honor to be recognized by our industry peers. We’d like to thank CEDIA and each of our team that made this possible, said Terence Mulholland, Beyond Home Theater’s owner and CEO. “This system represents what is truly possible with an integrated home. We look forward to helping more clients achieve homes like this in the future.”

Beyond Home Theater was recognized for its installation in a 2000 ft2 open plan, contemporary live/work location in Venice, California. The installation features multiple whole home systems that work together including entertainment, lighting, shades, thermostat, fireplace, entry camera and doorbell trigger. The Level 2 Integrated Home award category recognized systems with a budget between $110,000-$124,500 and featured at least two residential systems that provide enhanced convenience, safety or reliability for the client.

“This installation gave us the opportunity to apply several unique features for our client. For example, we programmed an alarm clock feature that wakes you up in the morning with window shades slowly lifting and the whole-house music system slowly rising in volume. The whole experience is quite remarkable,” said Terence. “Also, our client requested the ability to see guests at the entry gate when they arrive—we programmed the system so every time a guest presses the front doorbell, the video feed from the outdoor surveillance camera pops up on any of the wireless touchpanels inside the home, and even his Blackberry phone in case he is away. ”
